Aluminum Honeycomb Panel Structure & Materials
An aluminum honeycomb panel is a sandwich structure made from two aluminum skins bonded to an aluminum honeycomb core.
At Qitianmei, the main panel structure consists of an aluminum Face Skin, PU adhesive, an Aluminum Honeycomb Core, a second PU adhesive layer and an aluminum Back Skin.

The panel structure is arranged in the following sequence:
01 Face Skin Aluminum skin on the designated face side of the panel.
02 PU Adhesive Polyurethane adhesive bonding the Face Skin to the Aluminum Honeycomb Core.
03 Aluminum Honeycomb Core Aluminum honeycomb structure positioned between the two skins.
04 PU Adhesive Polyurethane adhesive bonding the Aluminum Honeycomb Core to the Back Skin.
05 Back Skin Aluminum skin on the opposite side of the panel.
What “All-Aluminum” Means
At Qitianmei, “all-aluminum” refers to the Face Skin, Back Skin and Honeycomb Core being aluminum.
The finished panel also contains PU adhesive and may include coatings, paint or decorative films.
“All-aluminum” therefore describes the main aluminum panel structure. It does not mean that the finished panel is made entirely from aluminum or contains no non-metallic materials.

Back Skin Thickness
Qitianmei’s current general Back Skin Thickness range is:
0.1–2.0 mm
The Back Skin is specified separately from the Face Skin.
Can the Two Sides Use Different Thicknesses?
Yes.
Face Skin Thickness and Back Skin Thickness can be different.
The final combination is confirmed according to the application, panel dimensions, connection method and project requirements.

Honeycomb Foil Thickness
The current honeycomb aluminum foil thickness is approximately:
0.03 mm
Honeycomb Cell Designations
General Honeycomb Cell Designations include:
3×3 / 4×4 / 5×5 / 6×6 mm
A 2×2 mm option can also be discussed for ceiling applications.
These designations should not be interpreted as a specific geometric measurement unless the measurement method is confirmed.
For detailed engineering drawings or measurement requirements, the cell geometry and measurement method should be confirmed for the selected core.
Honeycomb Core Height
Honeycomb Core Height range: 5–65 mm.
The final core height is confirmed according to the complete panel construction.
Core height should not be derived simply by subtracting the Face Skin Thickness and Back Skin Thickness from the Overall Panel Thickness.

Qitianmei aluminum honeycomb panels use PU Adhesive / Polyurethane Adhesive to bond the panel layers.
One adhesive layer bonds the Face Skin to the Aluminum Honeycomb Core, while the second bonds the Aluminum Honeycomb Core to the Back Skin.
Requirements involving temperature, durability, fire behavior, long-term outdoor exposure or other special conditions should be confirmed according to the selected panel configuration and applicable technical documentation.
The adhesive type alone should not be used to assume a specific performance level for the finished panel.
How the Sandwich Structure Works
The honeycomb core separates and supports the two aluminum skins, while the adhesive layers bond the components into a sandwich panel.
The final response of the panel depends on the complete construction, including Overall Panel Thickness, Face Skin Thickness, Back Skin Thickness, honeycomb core, bonding system, panel dimensions, support conditions and application.
Mechanical, fire, acoustic, thermal or other performance should only be stated as Qitianmei verified performance when supported by applicable documentation for the relevant panel configuration.
